Biography

Diane E. Wilkinson was born in Denver, Colorado to an American father and a Canadian mother. During childhood, she moved frequently attending ten different grade schools in the US and one in Holland. A High School art class introduced her to batik, clay sculpture, watercolor, acrylic media, and oils. The magical feel of the oil media captured her interest. She married an Australian-born Canadian, worked for several oil companies, began a family, formed a desktop publishing company (substituting computer graphics for oil painting while her two children grew), and moved another seven times, including the four international locations: Canada, Libya, Norway, and England. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Painting from the University of Houston.
